7 Days Uganda Gorilla Tracking

Day One:  Drive to Bwindi National Park
Our safari guide will welcome you on your arrival at Entebbe International airport as you transfer to Bwindi National Park in south western Uganda near the Congo border. On your way, you will have a stopover at the equator to take pictures and visit the craft shops then proceed to Mbarara for lunch. After lunch, continue your journey to the green hills and highlands of Uganda. As you approach Bwindi on a clear day, you will be able to see the triangular peaks on the Virunga volcanoes of Rwanda and Congo then drive down into the valley to a home of Mountain gorillas in Bwindi.


Day Two: Gorilla Trekking
Wake up very early in the morning and after breakfast together with your packed lunch go the starting point for briefing and guidance about the activity. Here you will begin the walk in search of the gorillas passing through the thick forest slashing the thick grass to track the gorillas. During the walk you will be able to see a variety of birds and other primates. On discovering the gorillas, you will be allowed 1 full hour with them as you watch the way they interact with each other and communicate, you will be allowed to take photos and record videos then walk back to your hotel for dinner and overnight.


Day Three: Visit the Falls
Wake very early in the morning and after breakfast you will visit Manyanga waterfalls and as you walk to the falls in the forest you may be able to see forest elephants, Antelopes, Baboons ,L’Hoest’s, Red tailed and blue tailed, Black and White Colombus monkeys with a variety of bird species and colorful butterflies. Then dinner and overnight at the hotel of your choice.


Day Four: Kisoro
After an early morning breakfast, drive to Kisoro via Ruhija or you may walk through the forest to Nkuringo and this takes approximately 3 1/2 hours. When you opt for the walk, you will be able to come across a variety of primates, bird species and waterfalls then an evening in Nkuringo or Rubuguri according to your permit.


Day Five: Gorilla Tracking
Wake very early in the morning at around 6:30am and after breakfast and depending on your gorilla permit (Rushaga or Nkuringo), meet the park rangers for briefing before you head to the thick forest in search of the giant apes. Together with your packed lunch, begin the trek that takes 3-6 hours. You will be allowed to spend 1hour with the gorillas while interacting with them then drive to Kisoro for overnight at the hotel of your choice.


Day Six: Transfer to  Mgahinga

Rise up very early in the morning and drive to Mgahinga park headquarters for briefing and then begin the walk in the forest in search of the gorillas together with your packed lunch. Enjoy your stay with your with the giant apes then dinner and overnight at the hotel your choice.


Day Seven: Return to Kampala
Wake up very early in the morning and after breakfast; prepare for your journey back to Kampala. On your way, you will be able to see the peaks of the virunga volcanoes on the side of Congo then proceed with your journey having a stopover in Mbarara for Lunch. After lunch head for Kampala to Entebbe International Airport for onward flight back home.
